AbleNet announces the release of several new assistive technology products to be showcased at the 27th annual ‘Closing the Gap’ Conference being held in Minneapolis from October 14 – 17th.

The AbleNet featured products will be available for demonstration in booth 248. The featured products include:

Equals™: Pre K – 12 mathematics curriculum provides complete standards-based lessons for students with mild, moderate and severe disabilities.

Pogo Boards™: is a unique, web-based symbol application that can be accessed from anywhere giving medical professionals, educators and families a powerful tool for gaining greater achievement and interaction. Hourly presentations will be made at the booth for all to see the power of Pogo Boards.

PowerLink® 4 Control Unit: AbleNet’s newest product enhancement is the PowerLink 4, wireless technology to control electrically driven appliances, learning tools, toys and more.

TalkingBrix™: Talking Brix are thin, light communicators with built-in magnets, perfect for carrying in a pocket, or placing around the room!

Hitch Computer Switch Interface: This plug-and-play switch interface brings AbleNet ease of use to Windows and Macintosh users alike. With no software setup, Hitch is immediately ready to deliver five sets of functions to as many as five switches at a time.

Students with Disabilities Excel in Summer Work Program

A six-week summer work program at Intermediate School District 287 in Plymouth, Minnesota trained students with disabilities in document imaging tasks, and was so successful that the district has decided to make it a regular part of its training opportunities starting this fall.
