Software association names award finalists

The SIF Association announces the finalists for the inaugural year of the SIF Excellence Awards, which recognize outstanding SIF Implementations at the state and local level and promote the strength of the SIF Specifications as a whole.

The finalists are as follows:

Outstanding Local Education Agency (LEA) SIF Implementation:
? Mount Pleasant Independent School District - Mount Pleasant, Texas
? Pasadena Independent School District - Pasadena, Texas
? Ramapo Central School District - Hillburn, New York

Outstanding State Education Agency (SEA) SIF Implementation :
? Oklahoma
? Virginia
? Wyoming

Outstanding Individual Leadership Award:
? Joe Kitchens - Superintendent, Western Heights Public Schools, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
? James McBride - Superintendent, Wyoming Department of Education
? Tracy Oliver - Senior Manager of Data Operations, Naperville Community Unit School District 203, Naperville, Illinois

The winners will be announced at an Awards Ceremony on 6 May 2010 in New Orleans at the SIF Association End-User Meeting. A panel of state and district representatives judged the Awards. These representatives have firsthand knowledge of SIF Implementations and are equipped to select excellence among their peers.
