Durable computer offers drop, shock, and spill protection

GammaTech announced today its newest rugged convertible computer, the Durabook R13C. An upgraded version of model R13S, the 13.3 convertible computer passes Military Standard 810G certification for drop, shock, and spill protection, plus explosive atmosphere, salt, fog, and freeze/thaw standards. Built to stand up to the harshest environments, the Durabook R13C is intended for law enforcement, military, homeland security, and any mobile workers in an outdoor environment.

Additional rugged features include an IP65 rating for dust and water protection of its enclosed portions, water-resistant backlit keyboard, and magnesium alloy case. Security features include a fingerprint scanner, Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 1.2, Smart Card reader, and a Kensington lock.

Powered by Intel Core Low Power i7-620LM vPro Processor, the Durabook R13C has 8GB of system memory, a shock-mounted 2.5 SATA hard drive with quick removal feature, an ultra slim super-multi DVD drive, RS-232 serial port,
two USB ports, SIM card connector, SD card reader, and more.
