ISTE 2012 NEWS: Digital Media Curriculum Available to Educators

The Adobe Foundation and Discovery Education today announced a partnership to provide curriculum and resources to help educators weave digital media making into their teaching practice. The new Adobe Youth Voices Essentials curriculum will be shared with educators by leveraging Discovery Education’s Discovery Educator Network (DEN), a global community of educators who teach with digital media, share resources, collaborate and network.

The updated Adobe Youth Voices Essentials curriculum provides educators with access to a collection of resources, professional development experiences, classroom materials and a community of peer educators who have media-making experiences via the AYV program. Essentials’ curriculum, activities, video tutorials and webinars cover a variety of multi-media platforms, including digital photography, print, Web design, video and animation, plus guidance on how to exhibit student media projects.

At ISTE, Adobe Youth Voices will host four workshops three times daily:

  • Adobe Youth Voices Essentials in Action
  • Graphic Design for Positive Change
  • Documentary Storytelling in the Classroom
  • Social Media and Exhibiting Student Work
