The educational game Skoolbo was launched the ISTE on June 24th. Skoolbo Core Skills, a multiplatform literacy and numeracy program, is is designed to help 4 to 10 year olds learn to read and gain confidence with numbers. The multi-player games incorporate 3D worlds, individualized avatars and a rewards system. Teachers and parents receive comprehensive reports detailing strengths, weaknesses and suggested activities for student improvement.
Skoolbo is available in iTunes for iPads or from the Skoolbo website for PC and Mac. The Android version will be available shortly. There is no advertising on Skoolbo. The Chinese version will be available in late July covering both literacy and numeracy in Mandarin.
