SchoolDude, provider of operations management solutions, today announced that Palmer Trinity School, an independent school in Miami, Florida, is now using its mobile safety platform CrisisManager. The mobile app will provide Palmer Trinity’s 130 staff members with step-by-step instructions for 18 distinct emergency response plans. Students and parents will have access to a future version of the app.
Palmer Trinity School’s previous paper-based emergency plans were cumbersome and quickly outdated once printed. CrisisManager offers a way to ensure that response procedures are updated in real-time, e.g., lockdown locations, school maps, and phone number detail.
“With more than 700 students on a 55-acre campus, we needed a way to empower our staff with the most up-to-date safety procedures. Booklets and binders are no longer effective,” said Patrick Roberts, Head of School, Palmer Trinity School. “Working with Gus Sabogal in our technology department, we realized that CrisisManager helps us create a safer teaching and learning environment by guaranteeing that emergency plans are quickly available on our staff’s mobile devices.”
Staff at Palmer Trinity School can access building diagrams in CrisisManager and utilize one-tap emergency contact calling. Plans, available with or without a Wi-Fi connection, are customizable, password-protected, and only shared with individuals based on their responsibilities within the organization. The app also offers incident reporting with the ability to upload photos and track GPS location.
Established in 1972, Palmer Trinity School—a coeducational, Episcopal day school—provides a rigorous college preparatory curriculum. The school serves students from a broad range of socio-economic, ethnic, and religious backgrounds in grades six through 12.
