Adobe Acrobat Connect (opens in new tab) is a cross-platform web-based conferencing system that enables individuals and small businesses/organizations to instantly communicate and collaborate through easy-to-use, easy-to-access online personal meeting rooms. These meeting rooms allow participants to share files and also their computer screens. The interface also has standard web meeting features such as video and audio connections, white board sharing and computer screen sharing. Acrobat Connect requires that your computer have Flash installed, Recently I have had the opportunity to use this software to conduct several curriculum planning meetings. Rather than have participants travel to a central meeting location we were able to quickly set up a meeting and then have participants interact and share their information without the need for traveling and leaving our school buildings.
