You are working with a district or school team which has a great idea for a community service project. Everyone is excited about it, but there is no money to go forward. Where do you go for funding? First you need to determine the scope of the project before you search for funding sources.
- Review student data to determine the most need; i.e. reading scores are improving; however fourth- through eighth-grade students have trouble writing effectively.
- Map the curriculum and standards to find a topic that can be developed into a community service project that encourages writing.
- Define the project and identify goals with objectives.
