As part of its mission to support professional development in education, Tech & Learning will be partnering with New York City Department of Education on two new virtual events.

The first is the “Beyond Access Forum” on June 3, 2021, from 9am-3pm ET. This virtual conference takes place on the DOE’s “Chancellor Day” when school buildings are closed so educators and administrators can spend the day focusing on professional development.

The Beyond Access Forum will focus on accessibility and literacy, with topics that include assistive technology and support, accessible website platforms, designing accessible digital content, instructional resources for teaching information fluency, transition planning, and digital literacy.

The second conference is the #NYCSchoolsTech Summit, to take place on July 28, 2021, from 9am-3pm. This popular annual event covers all things edtech, and the focus this year will be on the opportunity to celebrate and share what we have learned during the pandemic. Attendees will have the opportunity to reflect with others, share their stories, learn new digital tools, collaboratively tackle gaps COVID has exposed, and assist in planning for next year.

Although the agenda for both conferences are designed for the New York City Department of Education, any school staff is welcome to attend these free interactive experiences with multiple sessions every hour that cover topics applicable to any region. Attendees can personalize their schedules to create an individualized program that meets their unique professional development needs.
