New Year Celebrations Around the World

Tonight is New Year’s Eve, at least for most in Western Europe and what is known as the New World. You might be surprised how many cultures celebrate the new year, but do so at different times. Chinese New Year is based on the lunar calendar, so it falls on a different date each year. The Jewish new year begins with Rosh Hashanah in September or October.
