Playing Name Bingo
published
ReadWriteThink offers a detailed lesson plan that uses the game of Bingo to help your students get to know each other at the beginning of the school year. Read Kevin Henkes’ book Chrysanthemum to your class, talk about three or four questions that might be interesting to know about each classmate, and then play Bingo with the names of your students. The lesson plan also includes ways to extend the lesson and apply national standards. Assessment ideas are also provided, so you can begin to understand your students from the first day of school.
