The Donner Party

From Public Broadcasting's American Experience series comes this companion to The Donner Party, the documentary PBS film about the group of doomed pioneers trapped in the mountains during the worst winter in the Sierra Nevada, losing 31 of their group and possibly resorting to cannabalism to survive. Among the site's features (a map, a summary of the film, a teacher's guide) is the actual transcript of the film, which would allow students to create their own version of the film and compare it to the PBS version.
