BOSTON — August 28, 2012Lexia Learning Systems®, one of the nation’s most highly regarded providers of reading software, today announced that the Conway Public School District in Conway, Ark., has expanded its use of Lexia Reading® to all 14 elementary and middle schools district-wide. Conway students will continue to benefit from the award-winning, technology-based reading program that advances reading skills development for all students pre–K through grade 4, and intensifies and accelerates learning for at-risk students in grades 4–12. Used as an essential component of reading instruction in Conway since 2011, Lexia Reading has also been implemented in schools and districts across Arkansas including Bentonville, West Fork and Fayetteville.

Lexia Reading’s distinctive and cost-effective technology offers a scalable, research-proven approach that provides educators norm-referenced measures that prioritize the students who are the most at-risk, and recommends teacher-led, direct skill instruction to address specific skill gaps. As students work independently on Lexia Reading, they receive explicit, systematic and structured practice on foundational reading skills. The fun, engaging software delivers scaffolded practice, advancing students to higher levels as they demonstrate proficiency. Lexia Reading includes an unprecedented embedded assessment feature that can help reduce educators’ dependency on traditional testing methods. Lexia Reading Core5 Selected by State of Kansas for Statewide Reading Program

State to Provide Free Access to Technology-based Reading Instruction for Hundreds of Elementary Schools   BOSTON—June 18, 2013—The State of Kansas has established a two-year pilot program for improving reading outcomes using educational technology and has chosen to implement Lexia Reading Core5™ based on a review of stringent requirements. The state budget includes up to $6M in both 2014 and 2015 to implement the program, providing as many as 50,000 students in grades pre-K–5 with free access to Lexia Reading Core5. There is no cost to the schools chosen to participate in the pilot program as long as they meet minimum usage requirements. Lexia’s research-proven reading approach is currently used by approximately 20 percent of elementary schools throughout the state.

Council Bluffs and Davenport the Latest Districts to Use Lexia’s Program to Meet Requirements of Chapter 62, Accelerate Reading Gains and Close Achievement Gaps   BOSTON (April 6, 2015) – By the end of 2017, the State of Iowa is requiring that third-graders must be reading at or above grade-level or they will face the prospect of an intensive summer school program or repeat the third grade. To meet this mandate and boost the performance of its struggling readers while improving the reading proficiency of all students, Council Bluffs Community School District (Iowa) has chosen to implement Lexia Reading® Core5®. In addition, Davenport Community School District has expanded its use of the research-proven reading program from use in grades K-3 to all students in grades K-5, district-wide.
