After being labeled a “Focus" school by the state in 2012, due to a large achievement gap between the top and bottom performing students, Fremont Middle School implemented the Fast ForWord and Reading Assistant programs. The school saw large improvements in reading and math by Title 1 and special education students and in 2014 was designed a “Reward” school. Based on that success this fall the district is expanding use of the programs to the elementary and high school levels.
