Today's Newsletter: The Best in Edtech Holiday Reading

A number of great reads popped up over the long Thanksgiving weekend in the Tech&Learning feeds. MIT Tech Review takes a hard look at how tech companies really benefit schools: “The issue with rolling out technology in schools so fast is that the research struggles to keep up with the rapid developments, and schools feel pressure to use technology in situations where it’s not best suited.” This piece in Quartz Africa is a bit more sunny in its description of edtech integration: “Although the time for innovation and experiment will never end, now is the moment to put systems and strategies in place for moving to the next level, particularly by setting up stakeholder coalitions.” And Education Week puts the net neutrality controversy into context for schools: “Sometimes, each of us thinks there is way too much on the Internet for anyone to digest and much of it is not factually based. But, that complaint gets silenced when we think of others controlling what is available to hear and see.” —Kevin Hogan, Content Director
