The Elephant Sanctuary

8/7/2017 6:00:00 AM

August 12 is World Elephant Day. In Tennessee conservationists, environmentalists, and lovers of elephants can visit the world accredited Elephant Sanctuary, which houses many Asian and African elephants. The Elephant Sanctuary replicates the natural habitats of these creatures, and allows them the opportunity to be kept in herds with other elephants. Since the numbers are dwindling of these animals, facilities like this make an impact on their survival. Check out all about elephants on their special day!
