Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Launches New Social Studies Program for Grades 6-12

Houghton Mifflin Harcourt (HMH) today announced the release of HMH Social Studies ©2018, its new social studies curricula for grades 6 through 12. The comprehensive program covers history, civics, psychology, government, geography and economics. Program highlights include document-based investigations and analytic skills activities that help students examine source material and foster critical thinking abilities.

Key HMH Social Studies features include:

  • HMH Field Trips powered by Google Expeditions, which allow classes to take virtual reality field trips aligned to curriculum, including trips to Washington D.C. and back in time to the Oregon Trail and Alamo;
  • HISTORY® Multimedia Connections, which provide in-depth coverage of key historical events with interactive features, video and primary sources;
  • Close Read Screencasts, audio narrations that provide students with examples of analytic conversations that delve into historical content and primary sources;
