New Web 2.0 Tools for Kids Pre-K-12

McGraw Hill Center for Digital Development has launched two new online educational programs for kids:

- CINCH Project: With this web-based, protected wiki site, older students (grades 6-12) experience what it might be like to work on a project with a future co-worker in China or India by using the Internet. They're given a real-world project and just like a job, they assign tasks, research solutions, and then present findings and recommendations - all online.

- Planet Turtle : Planet Turtle is similar to Disney's Club Penguin, but instead of just fun, it's used to teach math to youngsters as early as preschool. Their own unique "turtle identity" must complete educational activities to gain access to more difficult challenges and new areas of the virtual world.
