Capstone Digital announces the winners of the 2012 Summer Reading Olympics.

More than 35,000 students and over 1,450 schools participated in this year's program, which surpassed 1 million books read overall. The summer reading program challenged students to read as much as possible from June 1 to Aug. 15 through the personalized literacy environment myON reader. The top three students were awarded gold, silver and bronze medals, plus prizes including an iPad, Kindle Fire and iPod touch. In addition, students from Woodburn School District's Nellie Muir Elementary School in Oregon earned an interactive whiteboard from PolyVision for reading the most books over the summer.

Capstone Digital Launches 2012 Summer Reading Olympics

Research indicates students who read eight to 10 books over the summer achieve similar progression as students who participate in a summer school program. To support summer reading, Capstone Digital announces the 2012 Summer Reading Olympics. All schools using myON reader, the personalized literacy environment that provides access to the largest integrated library of digital books with multimedia supports, are invited to participate in this summer reading program. Top prizes include an iPad for the student who spends the most time reading, and an interactive whiteboard for the school with the highest participation rate.
