GoodReader, document reader for iPhone and iPad, announces support for Server Message Block (SMB) protocol, which will make it easier to connect from GoodReader to a PC or laptop for sharing files between the computer and iPad or iPhone.
GoodReader users have already been able to exchange files between their iOS devices and their PCs using other protocols, such as WebDAV, FTP, SFTP and AFP, but supporting SMB simplifies the process because it is the native protocol for Windows, as well as a number of NAS drives, and requires minimal set-up.
