Document management software adds features

Xerox Corporation releases its newest DocuShare® enterprise content management (ECM) software, DocuShare 6.6, which automates the life cycle of documents, images and forms – from the point of capture until they are no longer needed.

New features and add-ons of DocuShare 6.6 include:

  • DocuShare Lifecycle Manager keeps documents current to meet compliance standards by notifying administrators when updates are needed. Documents are destroyed when the retention setting expires.
  • DocuShare Enterprise Capture digitizes large volumes of paper documents – up to two million pieces – into searchable data through integration with ABBYY FlexiCapture®.
  • SharePoint integration allows easy access to DocuShare content and simultaneous searching – with the ability to browse and manage documents, collections and workspaces.
  • Workflow and eForms enhancements offer expanded content rules and permissions for document collections, and the ability to add attachments and authentication to eForms – supporting solutions such as invoice and claims processing, and case management. Workflows can be easily integrated with DocuShare add-ons to create a complete solution.

Ventura County to Transform Paper-based Processes
General Services Agency (GSA) Business Solutions of California’s Ventura County provides document management services for government agencies. By deploying DocuShare eForms to the County’s parking permit process, GSA has improved the processing time by more than 50 percent. The County will save more than $9,000 in paper and staff time, and now have instant access to vehicle and permit data.

With enhanced eForms available with DocuShare 6.6, the County will automate other paper-based processes, such as badge requests, facility work orders and inter-office memos.
