Produce Professional Videos Online

Tip:
Animoto is a web application that automatically generates a professionally produced video that is a fully customized orchestration of user-selected images and music. Produced on a widescreen format, Animoto videos have the visual energy of a music video and the emotional impact of a movie trailer.

Go to Animoto to sign up free and then click Create Video.

The length of an Animoto video is determined by the number of images you include and the music you choose. It can vary since the video is being customized to the music. A video using an upbeat song will use images more quickly than one using a more mellow song. If you are making an Animoto Short, use 15-20 images for your 30 second piece. If you submit more images than can be used in the video, you may find that a number of your images did not make it into the final video.

If you're making a full-length video, you can make videos with as many images as you want. The only limit is your music selection.

Click Lets get your Images. Approximately 15-20 images will produce 30 seconds of video. A more mellow song will produce a longer video with the same number of images.

You can upload images from your picture folder or iPhoto library. It is best to use photos that are at least 640 x 480 pixels. Anomoto does not have a photo editing program so you will want to fix the size of your images before you upload them. If you plan to export this video for a DVD then the images need to be 1024 x 768.

You can upload one at a time or several at a time by control clicking.

All images are put in a sorter and you can move them around until you determine how you want them to appear and in what order. You can also showcase specific images.

Then click Let's choose some Music. Music needs to be in .mp3, .wav, or. Aiff formats. N.B.: Animoto does not support the .m4a format used by Apple and iTunes. You can choose music from your iTunes folder but consider the type of music you want for the images you chose.

You can change the point at which you want the music to start. With the Song Start Point Slider, you can tell where to start your song. Press 'PLAY' and wait until just the right moment; then press 'PAUSE'.

Then click Finalize Your Video and be prepared to wait, as it will take some time for it to render. When your video is completely rendered, enter your video information and send the URL to your friends.
