Web platform gives Arizona schools autonomy

Gilbert Public Schools in Arizona has implemented the SchoolwiresCentricity2 unifying Web content management platform to help strengthen communications with its shareholders and enhance the district’s image.

“Communicating with our parents and community is paramount,” said Nicole Richardson, Website/Multimedia Communications Supervisor, Gilbert Public Schools. “The Schoolwires’ solution offers us the flexibility in design and a large number of easy-to-use communication tools to strengthen our communications with our constituents. It will give us more opportunities to provide information in a clean and accessible fashion, enhancing the image of our district.”

Although the district had a website in the past, it required considerable technical experience to manage and populate it. Centricity2 is designed to enable people with little to no technical experience to create and maintain web resources. Teachers and other staff members at Gilbert Public Schools can now easily create web pages that include Web 2.0 interactive tools and other functionality and resources. District staff are also making heavy use of the solution’s flexible database application to create staff directories, sports schedules and maps.

“The Centricity2 software is extremely user-friendly,” said Richardson. “It is giving the individual schools more autonomy for managing their own websites. The tools within it will help us update the look of all our sites, while giving district staff and students access to rapidly changing technologies.”
