Apostrophe Catastrophe

Apostrophe Catastrophe

A not-very-successful migration of 'drill-and-kill' to the Web, this site quizzes 'Secret Agents' (users) on correct use of the apostrophe, although it does not offer to teach the topic first. The quiz consists of ten multiple-choice questions. Unfortunately, the 'explanations' are not very thorough and do not really teach why a right answer was right or a wrong answr wrong. Should one have a wrong answer it is impossible to attempt a second chance; doing so prompts a stern "You've already answered this; Move along!" as if a crochety policeman were watching. Also beware the site's preference for British over American usage.
