Kathy Cassidy teaches 1st grade at Westmount Elementary School in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada. The purpose of her class Web site is to provide appropriate Internet links for students' learning activities, share information with parents, and to showcase student work.
How to use the site:
Cassidy identifies some very interesting links for her first graders. Many include virtual manipulatives and other Web-based activities. Be sure to look at the Math and Browser Books links. Two of the most interesting areas of her site are the classroom blog and wikis. Cassidy's students use these tools to practice their budding writing skills, individually and as a group. In addition, several blog posts include podcasts.
