Integrate a little gamification into your classes and reward accomplishments by awarding online or printed badges. T&L blogger Özge Karaoglu recommends creating your own or using one of the following tools:
Mozilla Open Badges
A free tool with over 200 million combinations you can use to create, issue, and verify digital badges.
Choose the size, shape, and background you want, enter your text, and your badge is ready to be printed.
Award customized badges through your teaching account, which students can view on their accounts. Students can also embed badges on blogs, portfolios, or their Web sites.
Create badges (or upload your own design) and share them online.
