Meriwether Lewis Elementary School, in Portland, Ore., is one of a growing number of schools whose Web site is actually a Web log. Designed and maintained by the school's principal, Tim Lauer, the site's home page is updated daily. Teachers also post weekly Classroom Notes to keep parents informed. To insure that families without Internet access still receive all important news, a print newsletter (which is an archive of entries posted that week) is sent home with students every Wednesday.
