This PDF resource from the Austin Independent School District covers capitalization of geographical names and official titles, commas in a series, and commas in dates. With the whole class you can model the skill by brainstorming or finding examples. Have the students practice the skill by finding or writing their own examples. The real key is then to have the students find examples of the skill being practiced in their own writing to be sure they are using the convention correctly.
