April 22 has been celebrated as Earth Day since 1970. Although we should be practicing the recycling and energy saving suggestions outlined here every day, it is good to have a day to remind us and focus on how we can be responsible citizens. The activities suggested cover the curriculum from language arts to science to art. Write a story about a recycled product, plant some seeds in a recycled plastic bottle, make a mobile featuring endangered animals, and draw signs to help your family remember how to use less water and energy. Links to outside sites are provided to help with research.
