At the dawn of aviation in the early 20th century, a Brazilian innovator, Alberto Santos-Dumont, invented a lightweight aircraft that would allow individuals the thrill of solo flight. On this website you can tour a replica of the tiny Demoiselle, a precursor of the ultralight aircraft. The interactive takes you through piece by piece of the plane explaining the type of motor, propeller, wing structure, and landing gear. As you explore the many parts of the plane, the audio will give you many details about what you are seeing.
