Mimio is putting a new twist on conventional interactive whiteboards with its MimioBoard™, a fixed whiteboard powered by the award-winning MimioTeach™ interactive technology. Designed to give new schools and those institutions that want to upgrade their technology offerings an affordable, full-featured whiteboard solution, the MimioBoard is both interactive and dry-erasable and easily transfers created interactive lessons to other classrooms via its removable bar.The MimioBoard, which integrates seamlessly with all MimioClassroom™ teaching technologies, comes fully equipped with the revered MimioStudio™ classroom software and supports both wired or wireless operation.

Educators can get a first look and experience a hands-on demonstration of the MimioBoard interactive whiteboard at the annual International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) conference and exposition. During the three-day conference beginning June 25, Mimio’s team of teaching experts will also present a host of educational seminars and demonstrations of its new MimioReading™ software suite at the Mimio booth, #4113.

The advanced design of the MimioBoard comes from the company’s commitment to research and development, as well as insightful educator feedback. Its durable ceramicsteel™ surface easily withstands the rigors of classroom activity. And while the MimioBoard is a fixed installation, the interactive whiteboard component, the MimioTeach bar, can be easily detached from the whiteboard and transferred to other classrooms where it can turn an ordinary whiteboard into and interactive whiteboard, quickly and easily. The MimioBoard can also be used with either short or long throw projectors, leveraging current projector inventory in schools and districts. The intuitive MimioStudio software makes it easy to create engaging interactive activities, record student answers, and integrates seamlessly with other components of the MimioClassroom suite, including the MimioVote™ assessment, MimioView™ document camera, and MimioPad™ wireless pen tablet. Despite the comprehensive range of interactive capabilities, with the portable bar and simple to use software, teachers can set up boards and lessons in minutes.

“At the core of a child’s learning experience there must be creativity, collaboration, and physical engagement. The new MimioBoard offers teachers the opportunity to encompass all three,” said Mimio General Manager Manny Perez.“Our goal in developing this interactive whiteboard is to continue to offer relevant technology tools that are original and intuitive, that dynamically engage students, and that give teachers new ways to effect positive academic outcomes. In essence, the MimioBoard is really where technology innovation intersects with compelling content, for undeniable success.”
