As we watch the Olympics, we see inspiring stories. We see hard work, personal best, practice, struggle, triumph. In our educational spaces, we, too, seek triumph. The stakes are high. Teamwork is an essential component to reaching those goals. At the same time, challenges to newer forms of learning are raised daily. Just read this critique of online classes in the New York Times. Clearly, we can't be too quick to accept the latest fad or popular solutions without seeing if they are a fit for our school. Leaders who go for the gold ask: What new strategies, tools, practices will allow OUR students to succeed? What vision will inspire OUR school community? To quote Catherine Cronin, Lecturer and IT leader, "we must be willing to ask the difficult questions." Successful learning asks us to find our personal best, a classroom's best, a school's best.
