Mobile math app seeks avatars by middle school students

StraightAce, a new self-tutoring math service for middle- schoolers, is hosting an avatar design contest for all registered users in grades six through eight.
StraightAce registered users are invited to submit original designs for the chance to win a $1,000 gift certificate. Thirty users will also have the chance to win G-Shock watches, provided by Casio America Inc., and free one-year subscriptions to StraightAce. Submissions may be hand-drawn, painted, or digitally crafted. The contest ends on January 18, 2013, and the grand-prize winner will be announced on January 25, 2013.
StraightAce is available at straightace.com and is compatible with iPhone, iPad and Android platforms. Subscription prices for the service start from $14.99 per month.
