It is with sadness that I share news on the death of Tech&Learning advisor and friend, Debbie Braswell Rice. Debbie was director of technology for the Auburn City Schools (ACS) in Auburn, Alabama and a pioneer of many innovative and successful edtech implementations there. Her work improved the lives of students both in her district and throughout the country thanks to her contributions at our SchoolCIO Summits and Tech Forums as well as her work with organizations like Project Red and K12 Blueprint. Her enthusiasm for all things edtech was outmatched only by her kindness and spirit. We will miss her presence—her creative intellect, happy disposition, and southern twang—immensely.
