Changing the student assessment model is a bold challenge. To help guide educators in this journey, Pearson released two new whitepapers. “Pearson’s Automated Scoring of Writing, Speaking, and Mathematics: A White Paper,” authored by scientists from Knowledge Technologies, provides explanations of how automated scoring works, how well it works, and its potential for educational applications. The second whitepaper, “Considerations for Next-Generation Assessments: A Roadmap to 2014,” helps states and districts navigate the transition from paper to online assessments.
