Here’s a great interactive from PBS’ A Science Odyssey that lets you manipulate tectonic plates. Use your mouse to pull apart plates or push them together to see what happens to the Earth’s surface. Each movement is explained, so you will understand about collisional boundaries, transform boundaries, convergent boundaries, and divergent boundaries. Read a brief introduction to plate tectonic theory, and read about sea floor spread, continental slide, and continental crush, as well as find illustrations of these concepts. There are also links to scientists who were instrumental in explaining the theory of plate tectonics and the Great Global Rift.
