A recent study from Adobe, “Seeking Creative Candidates: Hiring for the Future,” offered insight into how hiring managers view creativity in job candidates.

Top findings:

94 percent of hiring managers prefer candidates with creative skills over conventional skills.

75 percent agreed that the job market will change significantly over the next five years and identified technological skills and creativity as essential skills of the future.

45 percent viewed problem-solving and critical thinking as skills that are highly lacking among members of the current generation.

54 percent recommend developing courses and training opportunities that better prepare candidates.

38 percent feel rewarding innovation and creativity in schools and the workplace is important.

33 percent voted for requirements for technical majors to take creative courses.
