Alexandre Gustave Eiffel, architect extraordinaire, died 90 years ago today. Visit Paris via the internet and view a gallery of photos and videos of his eponymous tower. There are three exhibits to explore, the birth of the Eiffel Tower, the Eiffel Tower’s inauguration and first visitors, and the construction of the Eiffel Tower. Get a bird’s eye view of Paris from the top of the tower, follow the construction of the tower through photographs and description, and join the Parisians when the tower opened to the public in 1889. You will also find almost sixty additional pictures, building plans, and early advertisements for the Eiffel Tower.
