Interviewing is the substance of reporting. Use this lesson plan to teach your journalism students the basic skills of interviewing and how to incorporate what is learned from the interview into a news report. The lesson includes the objectives, goals and critical questions as well as several activities for students to do in order to learn and reinforce the objectives. Teach your students the basics of who, what, when, where, why, and how, the ways to organize facts, and the elements of a news story.
