As someone who has been pretty vocal aboutthe limitations of Twitter, I should know better.

I see this obsession flawed in a few ways and it once again is more about adults and accountability than caring for children.

Sometimes principals or superintendents were the least knowledgeable people about teaching and learning.

When people falsely see themselves as more expert than others there is a potential danger.

I defined culture as,“the beliefs, perceptions, relationships, attitudes, and written and unwritten rules that shape and influence every aspect of how a school functions.”

When it comes to many issues, schools might be the only places where ignorance isembraced and addressed without judgment.

“Innovation” might be the most used word to frame the current narrative of change in education.

My final assessment requires students to answer 3 questions:

Maybe the question to ask would be “Why am I sharing this?”

"If next week you could provide some type direct instruction to your students, what would you teach?"

In a world where information and ideas are everywhere, I’m fascinated when people have a healthy obsession with something and go into great detail to analyze and deconstruct a topic or idea.

As educators, I think it’s important for us to look outside ourselves and our institutions for lessons and ideas on how to make learning and our schools better.
