The first of a series of interactive folktale apps, Dentist Bird, has been released by Literary Safari. Users explore the sights and sounds of Liberia’s rainforest while helping a clever bird cure a crocodile of his toothache. A free Teacher's Guide features:

A preview of interactive spots in the app
Ideas for teaching reading, math, science, music, and civics with Dentist Bird
    Printable activity sheets
Common Core State Standards (CCSS) alignment charts for K-G3 classrooms

In light of the recent Ebola-caused school closings in Liberia, the organization has also launched a global #ReadForLiberia campaign. Profits earned from sales of the app will be donated to We-Care, an educational nonprofit in Liberia that trains teachers, publishes children's books, and runs lending libraries.
