Artifacts and Fiction: Workshop in American Literature

This workshop, which is divided into eight segments, teaches how to use primary source artifacts from a variety of genres to support the teaching and learning of specific pieces of literature. The genres include visual arts, political and social history, oral histories, domestic architecture, cultural geography, and ritual and ceremonial artifacts. All resources for the workshop are freely available online. Many school districts will accept proof of workshop completion for continuing education credit. For a fee, the workshop is available for graduate credit.
